A monument to Denis Antipov was consecrated in his family village

05.12.2023

On December 2, 2023, a monument to Denys Antipov was consecrated in the family village of Khotymyr in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

According to the plan, the components of the monument highlight the stages of Denis's life. The red stone elements arranged in this way in a pyramid symbolize the steps that Denys climbed while getting an education and creating his own veteran business. In the black arch, which is installed at the top of the pyramid, you can recognize the shape of a book, and the roundness of its edges symbolize the infinity of life. It is worth noting that books had a special significance in Denis's life. Denis is looking at us from the picture on the front side of the arch. He is dressed in a military uniform and takes the assault troops against the background of the national flag of Ukraine. On the chest you can see the lieutenant's epaulet, honors and awards that Denis was awarded. Against the background of clouds, a bird soars, the flight of which emphasizes Denis's love for the sky. Denis, as an aerial scout, was able to control both aircraft-type UAVs and drones. Denys also especially loved the night sky with its bright stars and constellations. On the reverse side of the arch we see the arch-strategist Michael, who is the heavenly patron of the assault troops with a quote from the Gospel of John 15:13.

Symbols important to Denys are also engraved on the monument:

▪️ Denys recreated the historical photo of the raising of the flag by US Marines over Fr. Io Dzyma (August 8, 2015, Mykolaivka, Donetsk region)

▪️ Taras Shevchenko's quote "Fight - you will win!", whose portrait always hung in Denys's room next to the portrait of Roman Shukhevich.

▪️ Emblem of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Denys was a lieutenant of the 95th ODSHBr and a veteran of the 81st OAeMBr.

▪️ The slogan of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is "Always the first" in Korean, because Denys lived in South Korea, its language and traditions.

The top of the monument is a Cossack cross, which was created based on the author's sketches of the artist Yulia Kovalivska (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100017608368897), who lived peacefully in the village of Dovgenki  (Izyum district, Kharkiv region) before the full-scale invasion of the russian army. It was on the outskirts of this village that Denis died defending Ukraine.
